6th Class Trip to Avoca Handweavers.

On Tuesday, the 20th of October our class went to Avoca Handweavers. During our time there we learned the history of the building and how they make their products and work the machines. Avoca Handweavers was established in 1723. The Wynne sisters, Emily, Veronica and Winifred bought it in the 1920's. Then in 1974, the Pratt family bought it off the Wynnes. The mill was originally opened to provide food and clothes for the copper miners and their families. On the day we visited, we met a local friendly dog named George. We played with him and also took a picture of him.
